Communist Prague Walking Tour
What was life like in the capital of former Czechoslovakia under Moscow's Soviet influence? Join us on this tour in search of the traces of communism left behind in Prague.
Communist Prague Walking Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Theater of States (Stavovské Divadlo). Then, we'll begin our tour in search of the remnants of Communist Prague, one of the darkest periods in the Czech capital.
From Wenceslas Square, we'll set out to discover the landmarks of the dictatorship and the monuments dedicated to those who fought against this party, such as the young Jan Palach and the heroic Milada Horáková. We'll also remember the extremely tense moments that characterized the Cold War thanks to an exclusive visit to a bunker built in Wenceslas Square, below the Jalta Hotel.
The bunker, located 20 meters deep, was initially designed as a shelter in case of attack by NATO forces, only to be converted in the 1960s into an important espionage center.
Finally, after a 2.5-hour itinerary exploring the most emblematic buildings of communist Prague, we'll say our goodbyes.
Visit a Nuclear Bunker
The tour includes a visit to the nuclear bunker in Wenceslas Square. This underground defensive construction is located 65 feet (20 meters) below the Hotel Jalta. It now houses the Cold War Museum, where visitors can see the telecommunications systems and uniforms of the time.
